The 101st anniversary of the Lawrence,MA., Women and Children Labor Strike.
Today is the an important anniversary for labor law / children’s labor laws. The 101st anniversary of the Lawrence, MA., women and children labor strike. One of the major players to bring about the laws that we now work under was Frances Perkins. She was the first woman cabinet member, served under FDR.
I put together a small Wordpress website based upon a one woman play about Frances.
Written and performed by Charlotte Keefe, directed by Bruce Mcintosh and originated at the METTA Theater in Taos, NM. We are working to get this on the road. Charlotte has staged this in Lubbock, TX.
